ABOUT AU PAIR REGULATIONS IN ICELAND
- Hours and maximum workload: 30 hours per week
- Light household chores agreed with the family
- Participation in family life
- Common extracurricular activities
- Monthly payment: minimum ISK 40,000 (approx. €400)
- Private room and board
- Icelandic language course: recommended, by arrangement with the family
- 1 full day off per week
- Proportional vacation: 2 days off for each month worked.
- Duration of your experience: 6 to 12 months
- Health insurance is paid by the family
- Liability insurance assumed by the family during the stay.
Au Pair Program in Iceland

Legal Requirements
- Age: 18-25 years old
- Basic level of English (minimum A2-B1)
- Have experience in child care
- Single and childless
- Good health
- No criminal record
- Minimum stay of 6 months and maximum stay of 12 months
- No previous Au Pair experience in Iceland
- Assume the budget for the application, visa and tickets.

Host family
- Have at least one child under the age of 18 living at home
- Offer a private room and full board
- Commitment to cultural exchange
- Provide time off and allow enrollment in a language course
- Be registered with the local authorities to receive an Au Pair.
- Follow current Icelandic regulations for the Au Pair program.
