ABOUT AU PAIR REGULATIONS IN CANADA
- Hours and maximum workload: 30-40 hours per week
- Light household chores agreed with the family
- Participation in family life
- Common extracurricular activities
- Monthly payment: between CAD $800 and $1,000 (depending on province and family)
- The family deducts Employment Insurance (EI), Canada Pension Plan (CPP) and income tax from the pay.
- Private room and board
- Support for language courses or cultural activities
- 1 full day off per week
- 2 weeks of paid vacation, for 12 months of work
- Duration of your experience: 6 to 24 months (depending on visa)
- Health insurance assumed by the family (or shared)
- Liability insurance assumed by the family
Au Pair Program in Canada

Legal Requirements
- Age: 18-30 years old
- Intermediate level of English or French (B1 minimum)
- Taste and love for child care
- Single and childless
- Good health
- No criminal record
- Have at least 1 year of verifiable experience caring for children.
- Passport valid for the entire duration of the program
- Assume the budget for the application, visa and tickets.
- Apply through the Working Holiday Visa or Young Professionals program (available only for certain countries).
